Sold HRB today

I sold the last piece in my portfolio, HRB, today for 11.37$ a share. Gain is 5.2%. Markets are crushing today, as I foresaw. After another couple percents of a pull-back, I might start buying again. I have no shares currently:) If you have bought and sold as I did, most likely you did a killing since I started this blog. I am not making millions yet (!), as my capital is very tiny to start with. But it will happen before I am too old (I wish).

Yesterday, after a hard day at work, I was at home resting, and doing what I like to do the most lately: reading the Yahoo Finance forums! I have no intention to grasp any trading techniques or get any stock picking tips from them. However, I am very interested in the psychologies of the traders, manipulators and spammers. I believe that around 30-40% of these people are real people that trade and have intentions to share their trades. They are looking for some kind of an approval at the forum, as they put some thousands to some investment (!). Most likely they believe that some will read their post, and decide to do whatever they did. They always have millions of non-sense to talk about; like the how well the product is selling at the next door retailer, or the "insider" hints they have heard from their friends' friends... I personally really worry about most of them. In my opinion, they are just gamblers that sucked up into the world of legal gambling. If somebody asks, they can even claim that they are "fundamentalist" investors.

Short note: I got some MI from 6.01$  a share at the end of the day. It is not an A grade short-term investment (more like BA), I expect the returns in 4 weeks for this one.

Sold ADBE today

This week goes wild so far; yesterday ODP, today ADBE... I sold ADBE for 28.61$ a share. Gain is 5.9%. When, you go that fast, you better slow down and rest a little. Therefore, I did not buy any shares today. I was really tempted to buy some MI for 6$ a share. But, then I told myself "Come on Engin, don't be so greedy, let the little men (Average Joe investors) do some today money too.". Hahhah, MI is my charity action for this week.

The stocks I currently have (check the date from blog), and their buying per share prices are;
  • HRB  (H&R Block, Inc.) $10.80

Sold ODP today

I sold my ODP shares today for 5.24$ a share. It is like a good joke, because it just touched 5.24$, and fell from that point. Gain is 6.9%. I haven't bought any shares with the open cash position yet. I might feel more comfortable if Dow breaths a little, i.e. falls around 200 points.

The stocks I currently have (check the date from blog), and their buying per share prices are;

  • ADBE (Adobe Systems Incorporated): $27.01
  • HRB  (H&R Block, Inc.) $10.80

Sold USB today

I sold my USB stocks today for $23.30 a share. Great sale. Only annoying thing is that the 0.22 USB shares are still at my portfolio! Apparently Sharebuilder invested the dividends back into a quarter USB stocks... It is worth $5 dollars, selling it costs $10! It looks stupid at my well organized account file.

I bought H&R Block stocks with the available money. I have some great expectations from them, maybe even having profits in 10 business days! I hope they don’t worth a lot so soon; as you may know, selling the stock bought with unsettled funds is not legal. You have to wait around 3 business days before selling the new shares. Otherwise, your broker suspends your accounts for 90 precious days! (I forgot the name of the law, sorry). So, H&R better takes some days off and rests a little:)

The stocks I currently have (check the date from blog), and their buying per share prices are;

  • ADBE (Adobe Systems Incorporated): $27.01
  • HRB  (H&R Block, Inc.) $10.80
  • ODP (Office Depot, Inc.): $4.95

Sold CCE today

I sold CCE for 23.70$ a share today! Gain is sweet 5.3%. I bought ODP with the wide open cash position, but man it is a house of pain so far... It is falling like a little rock down there :)

Btw, CCE sale with approximately 5% gain gives some clues about my trading philosophy. I am a swing trader, or what the most call "momentum" trader. I target gains in 4% to 6% range.

The stocks I currently have (check the date from blog), and their buying per share prices are;
  • ADBE (Adobe Systems Incorporated): $27.01
  • ODP (Office Depot, Inc.): $4.95
  • USB (U.S. Bancorp): $22.1

My quest to become a billionaire

Hi everybody! This is Engin. I will share my quest to become a billionaire here, at this exact blog :) Ok, my English might not be the best you've ever read, but at least I will try to deliver the real goal; making the real money.

To become a billionaire, first I need to be a millionaire (duh), and before that I need a couple hundred thousand dollars, hahhah. I know, it doesn't sound like an easy goal. But please tell me, which big goal is easy in real life? If it was easy, wouldn't everybody already had millions of dollars?

Ok, let's cut the cheesy trivial thoughts part short! I went thru some possibilities that would make me (and for sure my dear followers ;)) billion dollars that we need badly. Let's look at the tools we will need,
- Access to U.S. stock market. Well, I am a permanent resident, therefore I can buy and sell stocks at NASDAQ and NYSE. But, I am not sure about the regulations for the rest of the world. I use the service of ShareBuilder for my trades, which offers a free tool. However, there are tons of other tools around too.
- Some solid math skills.
- Right mentality: Patience and steel like nerves.

Using the math skills part, I had already developed a stock picking program. Actually, it is quite an insult to call what I had developed a "program". It is an artificial intelligence masterpiece :) Ok, maybe not a masterpiece yet, but it is not a stupid stock oscillator. It does learn adaptively (accept that you are impressed). I won't share it's details, but I can assure you that it could easily be a PhD thesis for a mathematical stock market modeling fellow...

Let's jump to the conclusion. At this blog, I will share the stocks I buy and sell using my tool. I am self verifying myself here. Therefore, please do not do stupid stuff based on these picks and start blaming me. THESE ARE NO WARRANTY PICKS, OWN IT WITH YOUR OWN RISK!!!

The stocks I currently have (check the date from blog), and their buying per share prices are;
  • ADBE (Adobe Systems Incorporated): $27.01
  • CCE (Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc.): $22.5
  • USB (U.S. Bancorp): $22.1
